As in 1924 there were only two events on the schedule, the men’s 18 km and 50 km races. Both were held in the hills around St. Moritz. The weather affected the 50 km significantly because of the föhn, an Alpine wind that forms on the leeward downslope of mountain ranges, and can significantly raise temperatures. During the 50 km the temperature rose from 0° C. (32° F.) to about 25° C. (77° F.), causing major problems with snow conditions and waxing for the skiers.
