For the second time the Olympic the ski jumping competition was held at the Olympiaschanze (Olympic Ski Jump) in Sankt Moritz. The K-Point was at 68 m. A change occurred in the judging of the style marks. Before 1948 three judges were used with all scores counting towards the final total but at Sankt Moritz five judges were used with the highest and lowest scores discarded. The event was dominated by Scandinavia with Norway providing all three medal winners
