Nordic Combined at the 2018 Winter Olympics

Dates 14 – 22 February 2018
Medal Events 3

Nordic combined saw no changes in its program for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. There were the same three events that had been held since 2010, although there had been three events on the schedule since the 2002 Salt Lake City Games. Men would compete in a normal hill event, a large hill event, and a team event.

Once again, there was no women’s competition in Nordic combined which was always brought up by the proponents of gender equity in the Olympic Program. In defense of this decision, there really was no international competition for women in Nordic combined prior to PyeongChang. Women only began competing in a World Cup circuit in 2018-19.

Germany had been the dominant nation in international meetings for several years now, and they produced in PyeongChang, winning all three events, and five of nine medals, although really five of seven available medals, since one only medal was available in the team event. Germany also swept the medals in the large hill event.
