Nordic combined saw no changes in its program for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games. There were the same three events that had been held since 2010, although there had been three events on the schedule since the 2002 Salt Lake City Games. Men would compete in a normal hill event, a large hill event, and a team event.
Once again, there was no women’s competition in Nordic combined which was always brought up by the proponents of gender equity in the Olympic Program, although there was very little international competition for women in Nordic combined prior to Beijing 2022. Women only began competing on a World Cup circuit in 2018-19.
Although Germany had been the dominant nation in recent years, Norway was the most successful nation in Nordic combined at Beijing 2022, winning two of the three events and four of the available seven medals. Jørgen Graabak (NOR) starred, winning two gold medals and a silver medal.
