The Olympic Council of Asia is a confederation of the National Olympic Committees from Asia, which was formed in November 1982. The OCA is in overall charge of sports in Asia, coordinates the activities of Asian countries in sports at the regional and international level, and conducts the Asian Games and Asian Winter Games every four years. It is headquartered in Kuwait and, since 1990, its president is Sheikh Ahmed Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah of Kuwait. There are currently 45 affiliated nations, including Macau, China, which is not recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
