Founded in 1912 Nederlands Olympisch Comité, it governed most sports in the Netherlands by 1946. By 1959, the part of the organization not directly related to National Olympic Committee business was split off as the Nederlandse Sport Federatie (NSF), but by 1993 the two organizations merged again, now as NOC*NSF.
