The first Gotland Sports event was Pärkspel, a team ball game, played between 16 Gotlanders in the Olympic Stadium, who divided up into a Blue team, made of Visby men, and a Yellow team from the country districts of Gotland. In an hour-long contest, the Yellow team won both “pärks” and claimed victory.
