In the painting competition, the jury could not decide on a gold medal. The silver medal went to the Frenchwoman Henriette Brossin de Mère-de Polanska for L’Elan (The Jump), although the title of this work can not be definitively confirmed. The bronze medal was awarded to the Belgian Alfred Ost for the poster Joueur de Football (Soccer player), probably already designed in 1910. The original can now be visited in Sportimonium (Sports Museum of Flandern) in Haverlee.
