Korfball is a team sport with some similarities to basketball and netball. Demonstration korfball events were held at the 1920 and 1928 Olympic Games. Korfball World Championships have been held since 1978, and the sport has been contested at the World Games continuously since 1985. The International Korfball Federation (IKF) is a recognized federation by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Founded in 1933, the IKF has 69 affiliated member nations as of 2022.
