Biography
Guatemalan footballer Eddy Alburez spent most of his career with Galcasa, playing with them from 1980 to 1990 and scoring 38 league goals. For the 1990-91 season Alburez represented Xelajú, scoring four more goals. Playing for the Guatemalan national team he won a bronze medal at the 1983 Pan American Games after the team lost 2–1 in their semi-final match against Uruguay. Alburez was named in Guatemala’s squad for the football tournament at the 1988 Seoul Olympics although he did not play in any matches.
