Barb Jones was a cross-country skier who competed at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. A distance runner in high school, she placed second in the 1994 Minnesota State Meet in the 1,600 and 3,200 metre races. Jones attended Dartmouth where she was on the ski team. She specialized in longer distance races and ski marathons and was stronger in the skating technique.
After her competitive career ended Jones returned to medical school at the University of Washington, graduating in 2006. She did a residency in internal medicine at the University of Utah and became a pulmonary and critical care specialist on staff at Utah.
