Andrew Johnson was a cross-country skier who competed at the 2002 and 2006 Olympic Winter Games, focusing on the longer distance events. He was on the US National Team from 1999-2007 and competed at the World Championships in 2003, 2005, and 2007. He was US Champion in 2005 and 2006. Johnson attended Middlebury College, earning All-American honors three times, and graduating with a degree in environmental studies.
Johnson later became a ski coach, first serving as an assistant at the University of Utah from 2008-10. He was then an assistant at the University of Vermont from 2010-13, after which he returned to his alma mater and became the head ski coach at Middlebury. Johnson was named the 2018 and 2023 coach of the year by the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association.
