Tessa Benoit was a cross-country skier who competed at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. She grew up in Vermont and skied for the University of Vermont. Benoit competed at three World Junior Championships and at the 1999 and 2001 World Championships. Her only full year on the World Cup circuit was 1999. She was better known as a skating specialist than a classical skier.
Benoit retired from competition after the 2002 Winter Olympics and settled in Sun Valley, Idaho, where she coached elite level cross-country skiers (as Tessa Westbrook). She and her family returned to Vermont, however, where she continued to teach and coach skiing with the Woodstock Ski Runners.
