Robert Lukas

Ice hockey defence Robert Lukas was a member of the Austrian squad participating at the 2002 Salt Lake City and 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. In 2002, the team lost to Germany and Latvia and won against Slovakia but was eliminated in the group stage and finally placed 12th losing to Switzerland in the final round. In 2014, Austria lost to Finland and Canada, but won against Norway, also being eliminated in the group stage. In the play-offs, Austria then lost to Slovakia.

At club level Lukas played with CE Vienna (Wien) (until 1999), VEU Feldkirch (1999-2000), EC Villacher SV (2000-01), EHC Linz (2001-04, 2005-06, 2008-18), Vienna Capitals (2004-05, 2006-07), and EC Red Bulls Salzburg (2007-08).

Lukas won 73 international caps and scored 19 points (five goals + 14 assists). He helped EHC Linz win the Austrian National title in 2003 and 2012, Vienna Capitals in 2005, and Salzburg in 2008. Lukas later turned to youth coaching with EHC Linz. His brother Philipp also was an ice hockey professional.
