Christoph Schubert was a German ice hockey defender who participated in the 2002 Salt Lake City and 2006 Torino Winter Olympics. The team lost in 2002 to the United States 5-0 after winning the group stage ahead of Latvia, Austria, and Slovakia. In 2006, they were eliminated in the group stage and disappointed with a tenth place. In total, Schubert won 70 international caps and scored nine goals and 16 assists. He participated in six World Championships.
At club level, Schubert played with EV Landshut (1999-2000), München Barons (2000-02), Hamburg Freezers (2010-16), and Crocodiles Hamburg (2016-19). From 2002-10 he played with the NHL for Birmingham Senators (2002-05), Ottawa Senators (2005-09), and Atlanta Thrashers (2009-10), and in Sweden with Frölunda HC Göteborg (2010). He turned to coaching after his active career.
