Little is known of the life of Eugène Hanck, other than his 1952 Olympic participation. In the kayak pairs Hanck and his partner finished last of the 18 competing teams. In 2008, at a ceremony honoring Luxembourgeois Olympians from 1936-56, he was promoted to the rank of Chevalier in the Order of Merit of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
