Biography

Léon Klares was a sprint canoeist from Luxembourg who specialised in the kayak. In 1957 Klares completed in the individual and team K1 events at the Canoe Slalom World Championships in Augsburg, West Germany, finishing ninth in the latter. Three years later he and Marcel Lentz competed in the K-2 1000 metres at the 1960 Roma Olympics. The pair finished seventh in their heat before being eliminated in the repêchage.
