DeeDee Trotter

American DeeDee Trotter is a two-time Olympic champion in the 4x400m relay (2004, 2012) and the bronze medalist over 400m at the 2012 Games in London. A four-time World champion, Trotter was a member of the gold medal-winning 4x400m relay teams at the 2003 and 2007 World Championships, the 2010 World Indoor Championships and the 2014 World Relay Championships in Bahamas. Trotter won the USA Outdoor 400m title in 2007 and was the runner-up in 2005, 2006 and 2012.

A high school standout in both track and basketball, Trotter earned a scholarship in track to the University of Tennessee, turning away from her love of basketball. While at Tennessee, she was the NCAA 400m champion in 2004 and runner-up in 2003. She holds the Tennessee 400m record with a time of 50.00 seconds.

Known for wearing glitter and face paint while competing, Trotter, whose full first name is De’Hashia, is the founder of “Test Me I’m Clean”, a charity that focuses on fighting the abuse of steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs. She was also the organization’s spokesperson, traveling across the United States giving speeches and presentations to students about the importance of staying clean. Born in California and raised in Georgia, USA, Trotter is the only girl in a family three children.
