LeJuan Simon competed in both long jump and triple jump, but had his best results in the latter event. As a triple jumper, he placed 5th in the 2006 Commonwealth Games final, and competed in the 2004 Olympics. For the American Louisiana State University, he won the 2004 NCAA Indoor Championships, leading a LSU medal sweep. He died at the age of only 27, suffering from pulmonary hypertension.
