Toby Stevenson was a pole vaulter who won the gold medal at the 2004 Athina Olympics. He was a two-time NCAA Champion while at Stanford (1998, 2000) and finished second in 1999. Stevenson won the 2003 Pan American Games pole vault. He was given the nickname “Crash” by TV commentator Dwight Stones for wearing a helmet during competition. Stevenson later became associate head coach at the University of Washington.
