Together with her partner and namesake Anastasiya Davydova, Yermakova is one of the most successful synchronized swimmers in history, leading the Russian dominance of the sport in the past decade. The two won back-to-back gold medals in both the duet and team events at the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games, making them the only synchronized swimmers to claim four medals. They have also excelled in World Championships, winning five team golds and four duet golds between 2001 and 2007, adding a duet silver in 2001 and another silver for Yermakova in the solo event of 2003.
