Wang Kenan was Universiade springboard champion in 1999 and won the Universiade synchro springboard event in 2001 and 2005 alongside Peng Bo. Wang and Peng also won the 2001 World Championship in synchro springboard. Wang later became a diving judge. He was due to serve as a judge at the 2013 East Asian Games but died in a car accident while en route.
