Biography

Gunnar Utterberg participated in three consecutive Olympic Games from 1964 to 1972. He won the gold medal in the K2 1,000 metres with Sven-Olov Sjödelius at Tokyo in 1964. Utterberg also finished fifth in the K4 1,000 metres that same year and again in 1968, and was eighth in 1972. At the 1970 World Championships he added a bronze medal with the K4 10,000 metres, and at European Championships he won three silver medals in 1967 and 1969.
