Seth Wescott became the top American in boardercross once the event became popular on the schedule. Previously he had raced giant slalom and Super-G and done some halfpipe. Wescott was silver medalist in boardercross at the 2003 World Championships and won that title in 2005. At the Winter X Games, he has won three silvers and four bronzes in SBX, and has three US Championships in SBX. In Torino, Wescott win the SBX final comfortably for the gold medal. Born in North Carolina, Wescott grew up in Maine, boarding at Sugarloaf, and owns a popular restaurant and bar near that resort, The Rack.
