Peter Weigand competed for the Washington Canoe Club, and racing alongside his brother, Andreas Weigand, at the 1968 Olympics. Peter was US Champion in K-1 and K-2 in 1967, and won the K-2 and K-4 in 1965 and 1966. He worked as a boatbuilder and was the US Olympic canoeing coach at the 1976 Olympics.
