Biography

Zou Kai is a specialist on two apparatuses, the floor and the horizontal bar. While he had previously reached the final of the floor exercise at the World Championships in 2006 and 2007, his gold medal at the Beijing Olympics came somewhat unexpectedly. Two days later, Zou added another gold on horizontal bar, which was even more surprising. Earlier, Zou had already won the team gold with the dominant Chinese all-around team, which he had also helped to gold medals at the 2006 and 2007 World Championships. Since the Olympics, Zou Kai has confirmed his status, winning titles on the high bar in 2009 and 2011, while placing second on the floor both times.
