Salvadoran Judoka Franklin Cisneros competed in the half-middleweight category, winning bronze at the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games and the 2007 Pan American Games. The following year Cisneros represented El Salvador at the 2008 Beijing Olympics but lost to double Pan American Games champion Travis Stevens. In 2010 Cisneros retired and went to live in Florida with his wife and fellow Olympian Ingrid Medrano. He died in October 2023 at the age of 39.
