Biography

Asenate Manoa was the first female athlete from Tuvalu to compete at the Olympics. Her preparation for the 2008 Olympic Games shows all the elements of the pioneers of the early 20th century. Her initial training was on the runway of Funafuti International Airport, although she continued training in Fiji. Her race in Beijing was not only her Olympics début but also her first race on a synthetic track using starting blocks.

Personal Best: 100 – 13.58 (2012).
