Barbara Pierre was a sprinter who competed for Haiti at the 2008 Beijing Olympics in the 100 metres. Born in Haiti, she moved to the USA when she was 5-years-old and ran collegiately in the United States for St. Augustine’s University in North Carolina, winning three indoor titles at 60 metres in the NCAA Division II Championships. She also won two outdoor titles over 100 metres.
Pierre was twice US Champion in the indoor 60 metres, winning in 2013 and 2016. In 2016 she won her biggest title when she won the World Indoor Championship at 60 metres. She was a four-time medalist at the Pan American Games, where she ran for the United States, winning gold in the 2015 4x100 relay, adding a bronze that year in the 100, after winning silver medals in 2011 in the 100 and 4x100 relay.
