Biography

Mieko Yagi was the most successful Japanese dressage rider of all-time. She was an 11-time national champion, although she only started her dressage career internationally in 1995, at the Open European Championship in Mondorf-les-Bains, Luxembourg when she was 45-years-old. Through 2015 she is the only Japanese dressage rider to make the World Cup Final, which she did in 1998. Yagi also competed at the 2008 Olympics and the World Equestrian Games. Her career was in real estate, running the company Taiso, which she took over from her father.
