Biography

Marin Dragnea fought on the Eastern Front during World War II before having a rapid rise through the ranks and becoming a general in the Romanian Army. Away from the military, Dragnea also served as the President of the National Olympic Committee of Romania from 1974 to 1984. During this time he was awarded with the Olympic Order in Silver in 1983. In 1990 he became the President of the National Association of War Veterans, where he worked until his death in February 2020 at the age of 96.
