Domenico Bruschi was born in New York in 1936. In 1956, Bruschi was a founder member of the San Marino Panathlon Club. Bruschi was the President of the National Olympic Committee of San Marino from 1981 to 1988. Bruschi had a key role in the establishment of the Games of the Small States of Europe, with the first edition being held in 1985 in San Marino.
Outside of sport, Bruschi was a founding member of both the San Marino Timekeepers Federation and the San Marino Aeronautical Federation. Bruschi was the first person to bring the aeronautical culture of model aircraft to San Marino. Bruschi enjoyed building model aircraft and was the European model aircraft champion on several occasions. In 2018 he was inducted into the Academy of Model Aeronautics Hall of Fame.
