Biography
José Manuel Constantino served as the President of the National Olympic Committee of Portugal from 2013 until his death in August 2024. Born in 1950 Constantino played football for Leões de Santarém from 1962 to 1967, with him later graduating in physical education. He worked in a variety of sporting roles throughout his life including as an adviser to the Portuguese Weightlifting Federation (1986–90) and as a member of the Portuguese Higher Sports Council (2001–05).
