Galsangiin Dashzeveg studied at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Mongolia from 1956 to 1961 before attending the First Medical University of Moskva in 1971 to earn his postgraduate degree. During the 1960s and 1970s Dashzeveg taught at several educational establishments in China and became the chair of the State Committee for Physical Education and Sports in Mongolia in 1989. That same year he was appointed as the President of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee, staying in the role until the following year. Dashzeveg was honoured on multiple occasions for his contributions to education and physical education, including being bestowed with the Honoured Worker for Health Protection of Mongolia in 2001 by the Mongolian President.
