Rukma Shumsher Rana served as President of the Nepal Olympic Committee from 1998-2006 and was a former secretary of the National Sports Council. He had previously served as President of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the Nepal Taekwondo Association, and the Nepal Athletics Association. Rana was the youngest son of Nepali Congress founder Subarna Shamsher Rana. Rukma Shumsher Rana was also Nepal’s ambassador to India from 2009-11, during the Congress-led government. In the business world he was a partner and managing director of Dabur Nepal, an Indian joint venture.
