Alphonso Bridgewater was a sports administrator who served as the President of the St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee from 1992 until his death in 2024. Bridgewater began his love of sport by playing cricket, football, and basketball, before turning to coaching. From there he moved into sports administration, holding various roles in both St. Kitts and across the Caribbean. He was also the general manager of the Solid Waste Management Corporation on the islands and led initiatives around sustainable waste management. Bridgewater was honoured with the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) and the Companion Star of Merit (CSM) by St Kitts and Nevis.
