Biography
Matt Hazeltine’s son, Matt Hazeltine, Jr., later played in the NFL, with the San Francisco 49ers from 1955-68 and ending with one season with the New York Giants in 1970. Like his father, he played football at U Cal Berkeley. Matt Jr. died from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) as did three of his 49ers teammates, an unusual cluster of that rare disease.
