Biography

American businessman and politician Robert Heiner Garff served as the chair of his father’s car dealership conglomerate and as the speaker of the Utah House of Representatives. Born in 1942 Garff was the son of Kendall D. Garff, the founder of the Ken Garff Automotive Group, with Bob later serving as the company’s chairman. A prominent businessman in Utah, he also was the chair of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce and served as the speaker of the Utah House of Representatives from 1985 to 1987. In 2002 Garff was the chair of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Winter Olympics.
