Boris Skrynnik played bandy for Vodnik, becoming a USSR junior champion during his early sporting career. Skrynnik then moved into administrative and coaching work across the Soviet Union before returning to Vodnik, later becoming the team manager and club President. In 2005 he moved to Moskva, where he was appointed as the vice-President of Dynamo Moskva. One year later Skrynnik was elected as the President of the International Bandy Federation (FIB), holding the post until October 2022. Skrynnik then stepped down as the President of the FIB, with Stein Pedersen of Norway being elected as his successor. In September 2019 he was appointed as the head of the Russian Bandy Federation, being re-elected four consecutive times from 2012 to 2024.
