Gustav Grachegg

Gustav Grachegg was an Austrian equestrian rider. He finished sixth with the dressage team and 21st in the individual dressage event at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics.

Grachegg was a military man and entered the Austrian Army in 1902. He fought in World War I and continued to serve in the army after the War. In World War II, he was handed over to the German Wehrmacht in 1939. He was then appointed commander of several prisoner of war camps in Military District VIII and was eventually promoted to general major. In 1944 he was sent to the reserve and finally discharged. On May 13, 1945, he was arrested by the Soviet occupation authorities and was reported missing in action.
