In 1932 Sgt. Alvin Moore was a riding instructor at the army’s Ft. Riley Cavalry School. At the Olympics, of the 10 competitors in the dressage event, Moore placed seventh and was the last scoring member of the U.S. squad, which took the bronze medals in a three-team contest.
