Biography

French horseman Hubert Parot excelled at both dressage and show jumping, with the highlight of his career been a jumping team gold at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. Parot also won the 1979 Mediterranean Games and was a two-time bronze medallist at the European Championships (1973 individual, 1975 team). Additionally, Parot set a new world long jump record of 7.70m in 1970.

Despite appearing in five European Championships, two World Championships, two Olympic Games, one Mediterranean Games, and more than 50 Nations Cups, Parot´s finest achievement was his 1,214 Grand Prix victories.

Parot later ran an equestrian centre in Arbonne-la-Foret, and in 2001 was elected for two years to the Moroccan Federation as selector of the National Jumping Squad.
