Kike Sarasola competed at three Olympic Games in equestrian events, jumping in 1992 and eventing in 1996-2000. He was a four-time Spanish champion and won bronze at the 2001 European Eventing Championship. An entrepreneur, Sarasola founded Room Mate Hotels and BeMate.com. Sarasola also acted in television in films. He was the first Spanish elite athlete to have publicly declared his homosexuality on the cover of Zero magazine. He was once named one of the 25 most powerful gays in Spain by the newspaper El Mundo.
