Cyclist Gabriele Altweck was on the West German individual road race team and finished 33rd at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. In 1983 she won the national individual pursuit title, and from 1985-87 added three more titles in pursuit and sprint. Her father, non-Olympian Otto Altweck, also was a high-performance cyclist. By profession, she became a bookkeeper.
