Biography

Cyclist Alison Dunlap competed at the Olympics in two disciplines, competing in the 1996 road race and the 2000 mountain bike race. Dunlap was 2001 World Champion in mountain biking, and won a gold medal in the mountain bike event at the 1999 Pan American Games. She was a three-time US Champion in cross-country mountain bike and also won three US titles in short-track cross-country. Dunlap was successful in another cycling discipline, winning the US Championship in cyclo-cross six times – 1997-2001, and 2003. At World Cup events she twice won in mountain biking and once in cyclo-cross. On the roads she won bronze medals in the World Championship road race in 1993 and 1994. She also won the Redlands Classic in 1996 and 2000. Dunlap graduated from Colorado College with a degree in biology.
