Biography

Austrian cyclist Virgilius Altmann was a member of the road race team at the 1936 Berlin Olympics that finished fifth. Individually he came 16th. Altmann also participated in several road races in Austria between 1933-36. He was killed in action in World War II in what is now Belorussia, near Kazerogi.
