Biography

In 1931 and 1932 Danish cyclist Gunnar Andersen finished third in the Rudersdalløbet one-day race in København. These performances earned Andersen a place on the Olympic team for the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. He finished 18th in the individual road race, just under 10 minutes behind the winning time. Denmark also finished second overall in the combined team event; however, Andersen was the fourth-best placed Danish rider, with only the best three riders counting towards the total time, with him therefore not winning a medal.
