Born in Morocco in 1931, Itzhak Ben David took up cycling at a young age and rode in several editions of the Tour of Morocco in the early 1950s. David then emigrated to Israel, where he continued to ride, and he became the Israeli champion in the road race in 1960. This earned him a place on the Olympic team, where he competed in the road race at the Roma Games but did not finish the course. David remained involved in cycling throughout his life, still competing in races until he turned 70.
