Sheila Cornell-Douty was a first baseman who won gold medals with the USA National Team at the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games. As Sheila Cornell, she played college softball at UCLA, helping them win NCAA titles in 1992 and 1994. Cornell-Douty won five medals at the Pan American Games, including four golds, in 1987, 1991, 1995, and 1999. She was a three-time World Champion, winning in 1990, 1994, and 1998.
Cornell-Douty played in the Women’s Major Pro Fastpitch League, and was named an All-American 16 times. She also helped win seven ASA National Titles. Cornell-Douty is a member of the National Softball Hall of Fame and the International Softball Federation Hall of Fame.
