Fridrihs Bošs came from a working-class family. He represented the 2nd Riga Cyclists’ Association, when he competed in the road time trial at the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm. He did not finish the race and retired between Strängnäs and Eskilstuna, about one-third into the race. The Russian team was not counted for the team event, as only one member finished the race. In the same year, he placed fourth in the Russian sprint championship.
He fought in the Latvian struggle for freedom and then worked in the Central Land Management Committee. Bošs was also chairman of the Central Board of National Latvian Retired Soldiers (LAKB). In this position he acquired land in Baltezers near Rīga, where the first Latvian concrete cycling track, named “Senču Sils”, was built. In 1936, he accompanied the Latvian cycling team to the Berlin Olympics as an official.
